Barbara Anne is a late-blooming co-gendered lady who is intimately familiar with the trials, guilt, frustrations, and joys of being a T-girl. Her drab-side background is the antithesis of her feminine persona, yet both have learned to co-exist and compliment the other. She has a monthly TransActions byline in the Emerald City News, and is the author of T-Odyssey: An Unexpected Journey which is a chronicle of her travels in the T-community.
Barbara has been a member of Emerald City since 2003 and has been on the Esprit Planning Committee for the past three years in a variety of marketing and public relations positions. She is a part-time faux-femme, who when in drab is a semi-retired doctoral clinical laboratory director, an active US Coast Guard Auxiliary pilot and civilian flight instructor, a participant in amateur radio community emergency communications, involved in a variety of veteran’s affairs, and a retired Army Officer and Vietnam veteran. She lives to shop, and actually worked in femme mode during 2008-2009 for the White House/Black Market fashion chain. She has always been interested in photography and has become a serious transgender and female portrait photographer.
